Jamshedpur, 9/19/2015

Realising the importance of Savings in these challenging times, Tata Steel has declared September 2015 as the "Bachat Month".

A two-day Bachat Mela is being organised by the Company for all its employees and spouses on September 19-20, 2015 at SNTI Ground from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Mela was jointly inaugurated by Mr Suresh Dutt Tripathi, VP, HRM, Tata Steel and Mr R Ravi Prasad, President, TWU on September 19, 2015. Mr Rakesh Chandra, Chief, Finance and accounts, Tata Steel was also present on the occasion

The idea of Bachat Mela is to sensitise all employees about the need to save money and the various options available with us. Most of us do not realise that regular savings from the young age and its proper investment goes a long way in our life. With the increase in longevity of life, it is important not only to start saving early in the life but also to invest it wisely. With the advent of concept of nuclear family, one has to think and plan how you maintain the same standard of life long after your retirement at your advance age. Employees specially nearing the retirement, end up realising this late in the day. If you have not saved enough start saving right away. It is never late to start; you may have to work harder to save more.

Banking groups like ICICI, SBI, Axis, HDFC, Tata Capital, Tata Asset Management and Tata AIA have set-up their stalls to showcase their products. Host of Games and Competitions are also being organised at the Mela.

These programmes are being replicated at all locations of Tata Steel across the country. Besides the Bachat Mela, the Company has been organising Panel Discussion, Online Quiz and interactive sessions and communication at all levels at various locations
