Tata Steel felicitates Tribal Authors
~Felicitation of Authors of Tribal Literature~
Tribal Cultural Society, Tata Steel organised a felicitation function today at the Tribal Culture Centre, Sonari to facilitate the authors of tribal literature. Mrs Urmila Ekka, Hony. Secretary, Tribal Cultural Society, Tata Steel along with staff members felicitated the authors.
Tribal Cultural Society has facilitated the translation and publication of seven books in Santali and Ho languages. These publications include 'Ol Chemet', a book written by Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the inventor of Ol-Chiki script of Santhali language; 'Prem Chanda Sores Kahni Ko', Santali translation of short stories of renowned Hindi author Premchand, by Joba Murmu; 'Senya Rumul', a collection of poems in Ho language by Guru Charan Purti, and so on.
Tribal languages and literature form an integral part of tribal identity. To build awareness about the tribal languages and literature among the new generation and to disseminate basic knowledge on the scripts of Santhali, Ho and Kudukh languages, Tata Steel's Tribal Cultural Society runs learning centres and also promotes publication of tribal literature.

Ol Chemet: Publication of the book written by the creator of Ol-Chiki script, Pt. Raghunath Murmu.
Prem Chanda Sores Kahni Ko: Translation of select stories of Munshi Prem Chand in Santali by Joba Murmu.
Jeon Hor: Dedicated to the great martyrs, a collection of short stories in Santali, by C.R. Majhi.
Kami Jani Kurai: A book in Santali by Hemant Shekhar Murmu.
Senya Rumul: A collection of poems in Ho Language authored by Guru Charan Purti.
Sisu Senya: An illustrative book on Ho alphabets authored by Bagun Bodra, a Ho language teacher.
Sarna-Sadhak Ho: Authored by Birchi Gope, this book explains traditions and culture of the Ho community.
